GRACE & GLORY COMMUNITY CHURCH
We believe in one true God, creator of all things. He has revealed Himself through the Bible, through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:1-2), & through the witness of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:11).
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is our final authority for matters of faith & life (II Timothy 3:16). Its truth stands forever (Isaiah 40:8). It is reliable in guiding us to know God & to know our purpose in life(Psalm 119:105).
We believe that God exists eternally in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit. God the Father is the source of all things (1 Corinthians 8:6; James 1:17). God the Son is the only mediator between God & man (John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 4:12). God the Holy Spirit, lives within believers & works to empower, comfort & guide (John 14:16-17; John 16:13; Acts 1:8).
We believe mankind was created in the image of God with the ability to think, feel, & choose as well as the capacity to have fellowship with God (Genesis 1:27). However, as a result of Adam’s willful sin, mankind inherited a corrupt & rebellious nature & became alienated from God (Romans 5:12—19). Therefore, mankind is condemned to spiritual & physical death (Romans 6:23; Genesis 3:19).
We believe it is only by faith in God’s Son that we are restored to fellowship with God (Romans 5:1; Ephesians 2:8,9). In God’s great mercy, He sent His Son Jesus to give His life as an atoning sacrifice for our sins in order to reestablish our relationship with Himself & to satisfy His just nature (Romans 3:25; Colossians 1:21-22; I John 2:2).
We believe the church is the people of God joined together to be His presence in the world for the purpose of proclaiming the gospel, making disciples, & glorifying Him(John 17; Matthew 28:18). It is the assembly of God’s people where the Word of God is preached & opportunity is given for worship, fellowship, mutual encouragement & prayer (Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:25).
We believe God gives spiritual gifts to everyone who receives Jesus as Lord. As we use these gifts, the life of the church is enhanced, the Kingdom of God is extended, & each believer grows personally & spiritually (Romans 12:6; Ephesians 4:7-16; I Corinthians 12).
We believe baptism is an outward expression of new life in Christ & entrance into the Body of Christ (Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:4-6). Through partaking of communion, we remember God’s work of grace on the cross & celebrate our anticipation of His return (Matthew26:26-29;1 Corinthians11:23-29).
